Compelling boy-girl-duo-fronted bands THE PLEASURES and BIG WHEELS are joining forces for a DOUBLE HEADLINE tour with very special guest Allison Forbes to complete a lineup of country/soul/Americana outlaws.
The Pleasures’ debut record The Beginning of the End, described by Bernard Zuel as “a classic duets album…a mess of fireball, spitball and vitriol that makes Tammy and George look like romantic softies!”, was released in August and has spent over two months on the prestigious Americana Music Association Album Charts (coinciding with their debut tours of the USA and UK). Their sound is raucous, blues-driven and delivered by two of Americana’s most authentic and character-filled voices in Catherine Britt and Lachlan Bryan.
Sydney’s Big Wheels craft a timeless sound, forged by the shared love of old-school country and rock n roll by songwriters and bandleaders Cass Ford and Lawson Doyle. Recently returned from their own 13 date tour of the UK (where they also recorded their upcoming debut EP with acclaimed London producer Michael Smith), Big Wheels are ready to take their electric live show to new heights on this journey up the East coast after a plethora of top-line support shows.
Special guest, Allison Forbes plays by nobody’s rules. Her brave, insightful lyricism and tobacco-laced vocals have charmed audiences in major cities as well as the regional centres in NSW and The Northern Territory where she has made her home in recent years.
Collectively this line-up promises to be a riot and pulls into town just before the sillest of seasons. Fun times assured - check! Time to party!
